The cases ranged in their substance from a contested motorcycle accident case in which the plaintiff suffered a below the knee amputation, broken ribs and clavical, after pulling out into an intersection from between two left turning lanes, [$2.5 million dollar settlement], to a medical fraud case in which a physician and hospital provided 5 terminal AIDS patients phony drugs and unnecessary surgery and denied the patients the drugs that would have extended their lives [$2.7 million jury verdict ($1.8 million in punitive damages later remitted, cross appeals from verdict and remittitur settled on appeal)], to a medical malpractice case involving the failure to diagnose a rare heart tumor, in which, as the result, the patient suffered a debilitating stroke [$3.8 million gross jury verdict with a finding of 70 percent comparative negligence], to a vehicle product liability case involving partial paralysis [$2.2 million jury verdict, co-tried], to a pharmaceutical product liability case in which an experimental drug was given to a pregnant woman resulting in the birth of her baby with limb defects [$1.5 million settlement]. The results obtained in those cases were dependent upon the facts of the cases, and the results will differ in other cases based on different facts.
